Women entrepreneurs to get government attention at LAPO forum
Women entrepreneurs across Nigeria are set to get attention of government functionaries as LAPO gathers stakeholders to address their challenges.
Consequently, Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO) will tomorrow (Wednesday) hold the annual Women Entrepreneurship Development form in Abuja.
The forum with the theme: Women Entrepreneurship Development: Issues, Opportunities and Approaches would hold at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua International Conference Centre, Abuja, under the distinguished chairmanship of Yakubu Gowon, a former Nigeria head of state.
Bature Masari, director-general, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), will present the keynote address that will form the fulcrum of discussion by government agencies, the civil society and other stakeholders in development.
Sarah Anyanwu, head, Department of Economics, University of Abuja; Ndidi Nnoli-Edozien, founder/president, Growing Businesses Foundation (GBF), and Julius Ihonvbere, secretary to the Edo State government, shall lead the discussion.
LAPO is a non-governmental organisation committed to the social, health and economic empowerment of the poor and vulnerable in Nigeria.
