C&I Leasing acquires 2 ships to support Shell NEPCO’s operations in Bonga, EA fields

C&I Leasing plc, a marine servicing company, has acquired two new crude oil carrier vessels to support the operations of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCO) in Bonga and EA oil exploration fields.

The vessels named Masud Defender and Magen Defender are both 25-crew carrier boats with 53m two cargo deck, surfer-style bow load, and fire-fighting monitor.

“With the arrival of the new vessels, C&I Leasing now has a total of eight vessels that have been deployed to support Shell’s operations,” said the company’s management.

Speaking at the vessels launch in Lagos last weekend, Emeka Ndu, managing director of C&I Leasing plc, who commended Shell for the support and business confidence invested on the company, assured that they would continue to work hard to meet Shell’s expectations.

Robert Goodwin, offshore marine logistics lead, Shell Nigeria Exploration & Production Company Ltd, attributed the business relation with C&I Leasing to the company’s willingness to support the local content development initiative (NCD) of the Federal Government.

He said Shell was very proud to partner with C&I Leasing, while congratulating the company’s management on their hard work and accomplishments.

Feyi Olusanya, a representative of Barclay Africa, the partner bank of C&I Leasing, said that the Export Credit Insurance Corporation of South Africa (ECIC) contributed to the success of the project.

According to her, this project was the first to benefit from the small and medium transactions scheme of the ECIC.
