Haulage confab and exhibition to address industry challenges
Haulage & Logistics magazine has perfected plans to host its annual conference and exhibition tagged ‘HAULMACE’ on November 3-4, 2015 to address the current crisis in the industry.
The conference, which is themed, ‘Stakeholders Collaboration in Resolving the Crisis in the Nigerian Haulage Industry,’ will take place at the City Hall, Catholic Mission Street, Lagos Island, Lagos.
Uduak Henry, coordinator of the event, said that HAULMACE was borne out of the need to provide a platform for advocacy and resolution of pressing issues affecting the nation’s haulage and logistics industry.
According to her, several industry stakeholders and operators including their principals, financial institutions, truck dealers, trailer builders, spare part dealers, among others have confirmed participation at the conference.
She further stated that the problems facing the industry has resulted in high rate of business failure among haulage operators in the country, therefore, the conference is aimed at identifying possible ways of resolving these problems by studying models that are working with a view to drawing applicable lessons.
“Notable stakeholders like Chisco Transport Company, Leventis Motors, Scoa Motors, Iron Products Industries Limited, Joza Global Logistics, TSL Logistics Limited, AOP Logistics, Stanbic IBTC Bank, First City Monument Bank Plc, among others have already signified interests to be part of the event,” she said.
She disclosed that the conference speakers will deliberate on topics which include: Outsourcing Haulage Services in an Unstable Environment: Developing a Win/Win Framework for Success; Overcoming Challenges in Petroleum Product Marketing and Distribution in Nigeria; The Haulage Contract, a Legal Platform for Successful Collaboration in Haulage Operation; Peculiarities of Haulage Financing in Nigeria: Challenges and Proposal for Success.
The event promised to be the biggest gathering of decision makers in the haulage and logistics industry.
