NPA’s palliative measures to ease traffic on Apapa road

In a bid to ease the difficulties faced by port users on the roads leading to the nation’s economic gateways, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has promised to mobilise both human and material resource needed to commence maintenance work on the failed port roads.

Sanusi Lamido Ado Bayero, managing director of NPA, who said this while receiving members of Shipping Association of Nigeria (SAN) on courtesy visit to NPA Headquarters, Marina, also gave directive for immediate commencement of rehabilitation works on the bad road network linking Apapa and Tin-Can Island Ports.

Sanusi Lamido reacted to the updates made recently by Michael Ajayi, general manager, Western Port, on the adverse effect of the road on the economic activities at the ports in Lagos.

Recall that Ajayi told stakeholders that the management of NPA and a construction firm have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the rehabilitation of the Liverpool roundabout and Creek road in Apapa.
