Sifax Group rewards long-serving employees for diligence, commitment

Sifax Group, the parent company of one the indigenous terminal operators in Nigeria, Ports and Cargo Handling Services, has rewarded 11 of its employees who have served for several years in the company with ‘Long Service Award’.

The 11 employees, who have served the group ranging from 10, 15 to 20 years, were rewarded by the company for exhibiting diligence and commitment in the discharge of their duties.

Speaking at the event held recently in Lagos to celebrate the awardees, Folake Rogers, representative of Taiwo Afolabi, executive vice chairman of Sifax Group, who noted that the company is always ready to honour hardworking employees annually, also said that the award was an indication that the employees had been doing their jobs very well, which contributed to the growth of the company.

“We are celebrating commitment, diligence and productivity, and the company would not be tired of rewarding hard work. This is why we selected the awardees from different subsidiaries of the group. It also shows that everyone in the company is very important to the growth of the business,” said Rogers.

She, however, challenged the awardees and the entire employees of the company to continue to put in their best for the growth of the company’s business.

In his welcome address, Phil Ofulue, executive director, administration and human resource, Sifax Group, disclosed that the essence of the award was not only to motivate the workers and encourage them to continue to discharge their duties accordingly, but to also reward employees who have shown honesty, excellence and loyalty to the company.

“Sifax Group as a company has come a long way in business. The company has continued to grow stronger by the year in a situation where other companies have laid off several employees and owed salaries. The company is doing well, and this is like a thanksgiving for us,” he added.

Responding to the award, Shofu Taiwo Adedotun, who spoke on behalf of other awardees, appreciated the efforts of the organisation as well as the support of other employees in helping them to discharge their duties.

The awardees include Shofu Taiwo Adedotun who has served the company for 20 years, Yakubu Eruobodo, Olumayo Adeolu, Adegoke Funsho, Adesina Adegbesan, Ahmed Adekunle Ibrahim, and Ladan Paul, all of whom have served for 15 years each.
