Sifax promotes two management staff

Sifax Group, one of Africa’s fast growing multinational corporations with diverse interests in maritime, aviation, haulage and logistics, oil and gas, and hospitality, has promoted two of its management staff.

Michael Adebayo Owope was promoted as an executive director from the position of general manager, Off-Dock Terminal of the company, while Oliver Omajuwa, the former head, corporate affairs and marketing, becomes general manager.

Owope, a chartered accountant, holds a Bachelors of Science degree in accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and MBA from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho. He is also an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.

He joined Sifax Group in 2006 as the group head, internal control before a brief stint at SAHCOL, a member of the Group, as general manager, finance and administration. He also served as general manager, administration and stevedoring in Ports and Cargo Handling Services Limited, another member of the Group.

Omajuwa, a graduate of Business Administration from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, also holds an MBA (marketing) from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.

He is a member of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and Nigerian Institute of Shipping (NIS). He is a Fellow of International Logistics and Administration (ILA).

Before joining Sifax Group in 2006, Omajuwa had worked as the pioneer sales analyst at Classic Beverages – maker of La Casera range of beverages; chief marketing officer, Air Separation Nigeria Limited, manufacturer of medical and industrial oxygen gas and as the admin/marketing manager at Duraclean Gases.

He has attended series of high profile sales, marketing, management, leadership and public relations trainings both locally and internationally.
