TICT to boost service delivery with 5 new RTGs
Etienne Rocher has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of Tin-Can Island Container Terminal (TICT), while Yehuda Kotik remains the company’s chairman.
The 48-year-old Rocher, who is a French national, has over 25 years management experience in the field of shipping and ports gained from diverse cultural environments that cut across Europe, India sub-continent and Africa – including the leading Tangier-Med/Morocco greenfield Container Terminal development that started operations from 2005 through 2011.
Rocher worked in Bollore Africa Logistics headquarters in Paris before his new appointment in Nigeria.
“I look forward to a great work experience in Nigeria. Our company is committed to investing in the port and making significant contributions to port development in Nigeria,” the new TICT CEO said.
According to him, the investment at the Tin-Can Island Port Complex, Lagos, had grown to over N16 billion over the past eight years.
He disclosed further that TICT recently took delivery of five additional Rubber Tyre Gantry (RTG) cranes, bringing the total number of RTGs at the terminal to 15. “This will certainly boost productivity and assist us in serving our customers better,” he said.
