Chevron gets new NNPC/CNL Joint Venture helmsman
United States oil major Chevron on Monday named Monday Ovuede Director of the NNPC/Chevron Nigeria Ltd. Joint Venture.
This is contained in a statement by Mr Deji Haastrup, General Manager, Government, Policy and Public Affairs of Chevron in Lagos.
Ovuede replaces Mr Supo Shadiya, who retired recently from the company after 32 years of service.
The new director holds a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Benin, obtained in 1986.
Ovuede joined Chevron in 1997 as a Senior Petroleum Engineer and has held numerous technical and management positions in the company.
Some of the positions he held include reservoir engineering advisor; Agbami project director; general manager, marine services group for
Chevron shipping company and vice-president, organisational capability for Chevron Corp.
According to Mr Clay Neff, Chairman and Managing Director of CNL, Ovuede was appointed due to his leadership skills; sound understanding of Chevron’s operations and ability to build effective relationship with relevant stakeholders.
