Forte Oil’ GCEO elected as MOMAN chairman

Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN), umbrella body of the major oil marketing companies in the country, has elected Akin Akinfemiwa, group CEO of Forte Oil plc, as its new chairman.

The election of Akinfemiwa as chairman ensures the continuity of the Association’s policy to actively engage the Federal Government on its policies, as it relates to the downstream sector of the petroleum industry.

MOMAN under his leadership will wholly support the Federal Government’s policies by ensuring compliance in the effective distribution and marketing of petroleum products. In addition, MOMAN will continue to foster partnerships with the Federal Government in exploiting the opportunities prevalent in the downstream petroleum sector.

“Our main focus at MOMAN is to continue to work closely with all the regulatory bodies to finding lasting solutions to the problems faced in the downstream petroleum sector and to also assist the Federal Government by ensuring uninterrupted supplies of petroleum products to Nigerians.

“Our commitment is to continue to work towards reviving the Nigerian economy by championing polices that promote the development of our industry, which is a driver of the Nigerian economy,” Akinfemiwa said.

Akinfemiwa takes over from the founding chairman, Wale Tinubu, whose tenure as chairman saw the emergence of MOMAN as a powerful voice for the Major Marketers in the petroleum downstream sector as well as a standard bearer for promoting best practices within the industry.
