NGA to hold training on fundamentals of gas projects management

In its 15 years of serving as the voice for the gas industry in Nigeria, Nigerian Gas Association (NGA) a chartered member of the International Gas Union (IGU) provides the only opportunity through its Learning Solutions(a fit for purpose training) to gain comprehensive insight into the Nigerian gas sector, which enable participants to develop a greater understanding, interest and appreciation of how a typical gas project is organized and the roles and responsibilities of all members of the project team.
The certificated course/training is an enhanced and updated modules which technical importance include and not limited to: ability to clearly define project phases and to effectively estimate project timelines; conceptual engineering techniques and project execution strategy; fabrication and construction to materials and equipment selections; project commissioning and start-up including management of project/technical risks and providing mitigations to challenges in project execution plan.
The pressure to ‘Nigerianise’ the economy has crystallized over the years into a coherent set of policies to promote local content, a regulations that require a foreign investor to buy and/or employ a certain amount of local materials or human resources for incorporation in the investor’s product or services. The aim is to build local industries and develop competent Nigerian personnel.
The introduction of Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) points to a deep desire by the Nigerian government for greater indigenous participation in the oil and gas sector where the policy has been most visible, thus has spur NGA into the introduction of its learning solutions which has affiliation/business relationship with the major players and stake holders in the gas sector including International Gas Union(IGU).
