NIPCO restructures, appoints new helmsmen
Following the successful acquisition of ExxonMobil 60 percent equity in Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc by NIPCO and now the majority shareholder, NIPCO has approved the appointment of Venkataraman Venkatapathy, former Managing Director to the position of Group Managing Director (GMD).
Sanjay Teotia is now the Managing Director of the company while the former Executive Director, Corporate Services Abdulkadir Aminu is now Group Executive Director (GED), Corporate Services.
Venkatapathy who joined NIPCO in 2009 as Head LPG was elevated to the position of Managing Director in January 2011before the recent elevation and he would be overseeing the entire NIPCO group consisting of NIPCO and Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc.
Sanjay with over 28years cognate experience in the oil and gas industry across Asia and African region with core competencies in project management, downstream /midstream/upstream operations ,human resource management etc
Aminu who is a civil engineer of repute and one time Chief Engineer of Adamawa State had chaired the Adamawa Task Force on petroleum products distribution through which he ensured product availability and stoppage of sharp practices at filling stations across the state.
He also served on the boards of several regulatory agencies in the petroleum sector including Petroleum Products Pricing & Regulatory Agency (PPRRA) and petroleum Equalization Fund (PEF).
