Oando delights vehicle owners with free diagnostics checks, oil change
As a brand synonymous with safety and customer satisfaction, Oando Marketing organised a free car diagnostic event for automobile owners in the National Stadium on Saturday, the 19th of December.
The event tagged Oleum SYN Car Diagnostics had over 1,000 vehicles pre-registered for free car checks and oil change services. This initiative was powered by Oleum, the premium auto-motive lubricant from the stables of Oando Marketing.
Recognising that road trips are common to the Yuletide season, the free car diagnostic day event was organised to promote car-care consciousness, ensuring fewer road accidents and mishaps due to mechanical and technical faults.
The Oil change session was carried out by Oando auto-care centers, well-known for their professional auto-services, while the car diagnosis was performed by Oando Marketing’s technical partners, Automedics, a renowned automotive mechatronics outfit specialising in vehicle diagnosis, repairs, maintenance and sales of spare parts in Lagos.
They also run a school, where Oando Marketing is currently running a mechanic training programme aimed at updating and upgrading the skills of auto-technicians in Nigeria.
Speaking on the free car diagnostics, the Chief Executive Officer of Oando Marketing, Abayomi Awobokun said the initiative was primarily focused on informing the public that Oleum cares about their cars. “Today, it’s more than generating awareness about our lubricants, it’s also about easing holiday travel for auto-mobile users.
“ So we organised this free car check for people to detect exactly what is wrong with their car, get expert advice on the right auto-services and products best for their cars, as well as interact on a personal basis with our team of experts. It’s really many things in one, but most importantly we want to show our customers that it is not just about sales, we also care about their cars and their safety because we understand that the festive season is usually a cause of concern when it comes to road accidents.”
Speaking on other programmes run by Oando Marketing, he said “The Oleum academy is one of the many activities we started last year to give back to Nigerians, it’s an initiative that has to do with training and equipping mechanics with internationally-acclaimed skills.
“We didn’t just train the mechanics and let them go; we still support them with additional information, equipment when necessary, and services. Indeed, some of them are here today; the governor of the first Oleum Academy class is here today.”
Also speaking, Oando Marketing’s Head of Lubes, Lilian Ikokwu, said that the Oleum sponsored Diagnostic Day which was the first ever in the downstream sector of the Nigeria oil industry was aimed at creating awareness for Lagosians on the need to be more proactive about car care.
Throwing more light on the thought behind the programme she said “We are giving free diagnostics today to as many as we can, as well as offering free oil change services, over 1,000 people demonstrated interest. It’s just another way to further show our commitment to quality products and excellent customer service. This year, Oando Marketing launched new products like the Oleum Syn as well as re-vamped the packaging of our Oleum lubricants.”
One of the beneficiaries, Anabike Henry, who had his car diagnosed, was thrilled at the experience.
