Reps to probe pipeline surveillance contract awards
The House of Representatives has mandated its committees on petroleum resources (downstream and upstream) to investigate alleged fraudulent pipelines surveillance contracts on OML 26/30 to Tezino Nig. Ltd and other companies.
The committee is to report back to the House within one month.
The resolution is sequel to a motion raised by Leo Ogor, deputy majority leader of the House of Representatives, on Tuesday which was unanimously adopted without debate.
The pipeline surveillance contract which was awarded to Tezino Nig. Ltd was for the surveillance and protection of oil pipelines on OML 26/30 that are situated in Isoko, Delta State, and runs into millions of naira.
Ogor noted the desirability of the Federal Government in awarding contracts for the surveillance and protection of the nation’s oil pipelines in the Niger Delta region and other parts of the country.
