EKO blames line trip from Egbin for power outages

Eko Electricity Distribution Company has blamed the current power outages being experienced by customers under its operational territory on line tripping from Egbin Power Station.

Godwin Idemudia, in a statement by the company’s head of corporate communications in Lagos, attributed the outage to a line trip from Egbin Power Station.

According to Idemudia, the line trip has made it impossible for customers being serviced from Ajah, Lekki and Alagbon transmission injection sub-stations to receive power supply.

Areas listed to have been affected by the outage include Lagos Island, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Lekki, Ajah, Ibeju, and their environs.

He however assured that concerted efforts were already being made by generation and transmission technical personnel to clear the fault and restore supply in record time.

The company has therefore appealed to customers to bear with it, adding that supply to all affected areas would be restored as soon as the fault is cleared.
