Eko Disco explains cause of outage in Ibeju and environs
Eko Electricity Distribution Company has explained that the ongoing construction of a new 33kv feeder is responsible for the current power outage being experienced in Ajah, Ibeju and other adjoining communities in the area.
According to a statement signed by Godwin Sule Idemudia, head, corporate communication department of the company in Lagos, the company appealed to consumers to be patience as the work was necessary to serve them better.
The project, according to him, is occasioned by the rapid development taking place in the Ajah-Ibeju axis over the years, which has rendered existing power facilities in the area inadequate to meet the power demand of residents.
By the time the project is completed, areas such as Gbogije to Eleko, NNPC to Abule Ade, Magbon Alade and Ibeju Agbe that had hitherto not been enjoying power supply before now would be connected to the national grid, he said.
While apologising to all the affected customers, the Disco also appealed to them to bear with the situation, adding that work on the project was being expedited to ensure quick completion and restoration of improved power supply to the area.
The company also enjoined customers to desist from all acts of hostility and violence against EKEDP staff, as it would not take cases of people unleashing violence and terror on its staff and property lightly because such people would be made to face the wrath of the law.
