FG dissolves Management of Niger Delta Holding Company 

President Muhammadu Buhari has dissolved the Executive Management of the Niger Delta Holding Company of Nigeria Limited.

The President has also appointed Chiedu Ugbo, as the Acting Managing Director of the company.

A statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal said following the new directive, the Managing Director

of the company, James Olotu has been directed to immediately hand-over to Ugbo.

“All Executive Directors of the Company and the General Manager Audit are directed to hand-over immediately to the most senior officer in their respective Department.

“The Federal Government appreciates the services of the disengaged officers during their

tenure of office” the SGF said .

The Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (‘NDPHC’) is a special purpose company set up in 2005 by the three tiers of government tasked with the responsibility for implementation of the National Integrated Power Project (‘NIPP’).

The NDPHC is run by a Managing Director and two Executive Directors, responsible for Engineering and Technical Services, and Finance and Administration respectively

In its status report last month to NDPHC listed completed power plants to include 750MW Olorunsogo II in Ogun State, 450MW Sapele, 434MW Geregu II in Kogi State, 450MW Omotosho II in Ondo State, 450MW Ihovbor in Edo State, 450MW Alaoji in Abia State, 563MW Calabar and 225MW Gbarain in Bayelsa State.

The company also listed 225MW Omoku in Rivers State, 338MW Egbema in Imo State and 530MW second phase of Alaoji as imminently completed, stressing that the completed power plants have been operated with private sector orientation and supported by Long Term Service Agreements (LTSA) in line with international best practice.
