Ibom Power Company strategises to boost electricity supply

Ibom Power Company (IPC) is re-strategising through the implementation of good corporate governance as part of efforts to boost electricity supply to consumers in Akwa Ibom and neighbouring states.

Mayen Etukudoh, managing director of the company stated this during a three-day training organised for the board and management of the company held  in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

He said specific areas of board and management responsibilities were dealt with to ensure a smooth relationship between the two groups adding that the focus was on managing stakeholders’ interest, and corporate performance, transparency and accountability and the challenges to good corporate governance.

Also speaking, the deputy managing director of the company, Neslon Usiere described the training as the first of its kind  organised for the board and management adding that  was intended to ensure synergy between the two aimed at  bringing the company  to the next level within a short time.

Meanwhile, Etido Inyang has stated, chairman, board of directors of the company lauded the vision of the state government in providing energy infrastructure to boost power supply in the state and beyond and urged the board management of the company to put to use the knowledge gathered in the discharge of their duty.

The company currently generates 191 MW of electricity and has the licence to generate up to 685 MW of electricity.
