Substandard solar products: Rubitec partners Jinko Solar to train operators
In a bid to improve the quality of solar products in Nigeria, Rubitec Solar is partnering with Jinko Solar, one of the biggest solar infrastructure manufacturers in the world to train solar companies, installers and dealers in Nigeria and enlighten them on best practices in the sector.
Rubitech Solar specialises in renewable energy specifically solar and inverter. The company believes that alternative technologies especially renewable energy sources to power rural homes will assist in resolving Nigeria’s energy crises.
Bolade Soremekun, the CEO of Rubitec Solar told Offgrid Business that while the industry is seeing positive gains and solar is gaining traction in Nigeria, there was need for high quality solar infrastructure in the country.
“We are launching Jinko in Nigeria, it is the largest solar manufacturer in the world and they make high quality solar panels so we decided there was need for a training of operators as part of the formal of Jinko Solar in Nigeria,” said Soremekun.
Jinko Solar is a Chinese manufacturer of photovoltaics and a developer of solar projects which started out as a wafer manufacturer in 2006 and launched its initial public offer in 2010. It now manufacturers wafers, cells and modules.
In 2016, the company reported revenues in excess of $3.2 billion and is listed on the New York stock exchange among others. The company’s biggest projects are developed ina China and at the end of 2015, it had connected 1,006 MWs to the grid.
