Lagos State gets three new judges

The Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode recently performed the swearing-in ceremony of three Judge of the High Court of Lagos State at The Banquet Hall, Lagos House, Alausa-Ikeja.

The Governor in his address at the event, said that the conduct and comportment of the judges will be monitored and advised that they should carry out their duties without fair and favour. He noted that Lagos State has the most vibrant Judiciary and Justice system in Nigeria.

The Governor further explained that to develop the justice system in the State he will work with the outcome of the recommendation of the Stakeholders Summit on the Administration of Justice held on the 30th – 31st January, at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island.

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice; Adeniji Kazeem, while reading the citation of the Judges, affirmed that the Judges have amazing character and have contributed to the development of Justice in Lagos State and have been certified fit and worthy to be appointed as Judges in the State.

The newly sworn-in Judges of the State High Court, are Mrs. Idowu Alakija; a former Director of Public Prosecution of the State Ministry of Justice, Mr. Emmanuel Ogundare; the Chief Registrar of the Lagos State High Court and Ms Serifat Solebo; the Deputy Chief Registrar, Special Duties, Lagos State High Court.

The three new sworn-in Judges raised the number of serving Judges in Lagos State High Court from 54 to 57.
