NBA commiserates with family of former Law School DG

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Okey Wali, SAN, has sent a condolence message on behalf of the association to the family of Prof. Kayode Jegede, SAN, who passed on last week in Abuja.

The Late Jegede was the first Director-General (and fifth head) of the Nigerian Law School and his tenure as DG lasted until 2004.

The NBA president, who expressed shock at the loss of this exemplary administrator, described him as gentle, humble, soft spoken and very unassuming.

“I had the privilege of working closely with him as a representative of the Nigerian Bar Association during his tenure as the Director-General of the Nigerian Law School. He was a quintessential administrator, and the history of the Nigerian Law School and indeed the legal profession in Nigeria can never be complete without the name of Mr. Kayode Jegede, SAN,” Wali said.

He offered the condolences of the Nigerian Bar Association to the family, while praying for the repose of the soul of the departed.
