NBA Lagos branch begins 2014 Law Week

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Lagos Branch yesterday declared open the its 2014 Law Week in Lagos.

The three-day programme which has various activities lined up, will hold at the Muson Centre, the Lagos City Hall and the Foyer of the Lagos High Court, all in Lagos Island.

Speaking about this year’s event the Chairman of the branch, Alex Muoka explained that the focus of the 2014 Law Week is on Lagos as a Melting Pot or a ‘No Man’s Land’. He explained that there was need for the city to be the pace-setter for Nigeria’s unity.

“The event features informative sessions and workshops on current issues and areas of law such as Maritime Law, Election Petitions, Energy and Alternative Dispute Resolution,” he announced

Other events include a Football Match; a Cocktail/Variety Night at the Lagos High Court Foyer tomorrow Friday, 11th July, and an exclusive dinner in honour of the outgoing Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice A. A. Phillips (Mrs.), tonight, Thursday July 10, 2014 at City Hall; with several opportunities for networking and entertainment.

Law firms and legal departments of corporate organisations are actively participating at this year’s event.
