NBA Owerri branch gets new leadership, ahead of AGC
Ahead of the Annual General Conference (AGC) of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) which holds this month in Owerri, Imo State, the Owerri branch which is the host branch for the event has elected new officers to pilot its affairs for the next two years.
At its recent general meeting at the Bar Centre, Owerri, the members in a keenly contested election voted for Stanley Imo to lead the new executive committee as chairman. While Mr. I. F. Akponye and Chris Ihentuge were elected Vice Chairman and Secretary respectively, Ndidi Anike defeated her opponent to emerge Publicity Secretary in a hotly contested electoral face-off.
Others elected are, Ishmael Nkwocha (Financial Secretary), Nkechi Obioha (Treasurer), Mazi Udegbulem (Assistant Secretary) and Ngozi Ihiekwe (Welfare Secretary).
The committee has since been inaugurated, with its first major task being a successful hosting of the 2014 Annual General Conference.
