NBA Owerri, honours police commissioer, SAN at Law week
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Owerri branch, last week honoured the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Taiwo Frederick Lakanu and Chief Arthur Obi Okafor, SAN at a grand occasion which took place at the Vilas Garden Hotel, Owerri.
Both lawyers were honoured for their contributions to the development of the state and the country at large.
CP Lakanu, who is a member of the International Bar Association, the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), was honoured for stemming the tide of crime in Imo State since he assumed office as the State Commissioner of Police in the State, while Arthur Obi Okafor, SAN was honoured as the Pillar of Sports and philanthropy in the Eastern Bar Forum (EBF).
The awards were presented by the chairman of the NBA Owerri branch, Lawrence Nwakaeti, supported by the chairman of the Law week committee, N. A. Nnawuchi, SAN.
The weeklong programme of the branch law week has been described as a huge success as members of the branch came out en masse to attend and participate in the programmes.
