NBA pays tributes, as the Bar mourns again
For the third week running, the Nigerian Bar Association has been thrown into mourning once again as it loses yet another set of outstanding practitioners, Chief Theodore Ezeobi, SAN and G.O.K (Godwin Olusegun Kolawole) Ajayi , SAN .
A mentor and icon, Ajayi was regarded as one of the most revered legal practitioners in the history of the profession in Nigeria.
Expressing sadness at both losses, the NBA President, Okey Wali, SAN described the late G.O.K thus, “One of the best gentlemen I have even come across. Of course for the Legal Profession, definitely one of the most revered. For me, he was my mentor and idol. He will be greatly missed.”
“The NBA celebrates both men who have indeed, lived very worthy lives. G.O.K’s image as a lawyer loomed so large that it was as if he was immortal and beyond death. That his life has been terminated is regrettable and a sad reminder of the mortality of all human beings. Chief Ezeobi on the other hand was a very committed Bar man and the NBA will sorely miss him,”
“On behalf of the Nigerian Bar Association, we commensurate with the families of the departed. May god give them the fortitude to bear this loss,” he said.
LB also sends its condolences to the families of the deceased.
