OAA gets new partner and head of corporate commercial
Olisa Agbakoba and Associates (OA&A) has elevated Babatunde Ogungbamila as Associate Partner, Litigation. The firm also appointed Victor Akazue Nwakasi as the Head of Corporate & Commercial Practice Unit.
Prior to his appointment, Babatunde Ogungbamila was a Senior Associate and the Head of Litigation in the Firm. He holds a masters degree in law from the prestigious Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) University of Dundee, Scotland.
Tunde is a seasoned litigator both in general civil and criminal matters. He is also adept in other Alternative Dispute Resolutions (ADRs). He specializes in commercial litigation and has litigated an extensive range of issues, including maritime law, banking, intellectual property, contract law, receiverships, arbitration, corporate recovery, company matters and insolvency, both at trial and appellate levels.
Nwakasi holds a first and Masters Degree in law from The University of Ibadan and University of Lagos respectively. Before his appointment, he was a Senior Associate in the law firm and has experience in General Legal Practice and Development Law. He has participated in handling of major corporate and commercial transactions in the firm and Co-leads the Debt Restructuring and Dispute Resolution team of OA&A.
Nwakasi practices ADR and supports Advocacy for development of Arbitration Institutions and legal framework in Africa. He is presently the African Regional Representative for Young International Arbitration Group of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).
