SBL, CAC joint working committee set for work
Following the move early this year by the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL), to partner with and establish a quality relationship with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) towards the enhancement of business practices in Nigeria, the duo recently set up a Joint Working Committee to promote regular and constructive engagements between the SBL and the CAC.
The Committee Co-chaired by Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN and Adekunle Omowole of the CAC was inaugurated at the Head Office of the commission in Abuja on Wednesday August 26, 2015.
Following this development, the Joint Committee is set to hold its inaugural meeting on Thursday September 17 2015, at the CAC and stakeholders have been asked to forward a list of burning issues or concerns relative to the CAC’s operations for the Committee to tackle.
It would be recalled that the SBL Council in February this year, engaged the Registrar General and management of the CAC for possible collaborations that would improve the operations of the commission, develop business practices in Nigeria and enhance the country’s ‘doing business’ profile globally. The meeting which took place on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the CAC Head quarters in Abuja, focused on critical areas where SBL can collaborate with the CAC for prompt and quality services delivery to key stakeholders and members of the general public.
