Vote your conscience NBA President tells members

Vote your conscience. Vote for the candidate who has the programme that appeals to you – a programme that meets your expectations of the bar.

Note that individual expectations of our bar association are not the same. Do not vote for a candidate that meets my expectation or the expectations of another. Rather, vote for one that meets yours. Only then, will you be happy and satisfied with the output of that candidate.

To the candidates, I’d say…

The most important thing at this stage is to let the electorate know what you want to do for the bar. People must buy into your vision.

When I ran for this office, I ran with the vision that ‘Together we can uplift the bar’ and we did. We had a message that resonated with the people and they came on board. That’s how the election was won.

Coming out to run for office as a leader in the first place, shows a deep interest in the affairs of the bar. I believe that all the candidates that have come up so far are very well imbued and very qualified to run the bar efficiently. To this end, my prayers are constantly with them.
