Berger Paints’ expansion down to new technology – MD

New technology and strategic direction of the board of directors are responsible for continued expansion and plant modernisation of Berger Paints Nigeria plc.

Peter Bababunmi Folikwe, newly appointed managing director, Berger Paints Nigeria, said this when he paid a courtesy visit to Remi Bello, president, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), last week.

According to Folikwe, the firm had continued to set a trend in the market, embrace new technology to produce environmentally friendly products that would always serve the needs of its diverse customers, as the firm was setting up a modern factory that would be the first of its kind in West Africa.

The modernisation of the factory and other recent changes seen in the company could be attributed to the strategic direction given by its board of directors, which comprised of young and vibrant professionals in different fields of human endeavour, he said.

The Berger Paints managing director appreciated the warm reception accorded his team by LCCI and encouraged the chamber to keep up its advocacy activities which were helping to cushion some of the challenges of poor infrastructure being faced by manufacturers in the country.

“Berger Paints has been a member of the Lagos Chamber for a long time, and we will like to see more collaborative efforts between Berger Paints and LCCI as well as increased participation from Berger Paints in the activities of the chamber,” said Remi Bello, who received Berger Paints helmsman alongside Muda Yusuf, director-general of the chamber.

Yusuf took the Berger Paints team through the activities of the chamber and possible avenues the company could tap into to drive sales and improve visibility.

This visit was part of the move by the new Berger Paints managing director to reach out to key stakeholders in the industry.

Berger Paints Nigeria plc manufactures decorative and industrial paints, marine and protective coatings, automotive/vehicle refinishes and allied products.
