Klopp Water Cure makes bold entry into chemical industry
Nigeria’s chemical industry has received a big boost as Klopp Water Cure makes a bold entry into the industry.
Klopp Water Cure is a chemical which is used in the treatment of water. The product, which is manufactured by MD Services Limited, is a guaranteed safe treatment solution that ensures that Nigerians drink the safest water.
“This is the best and safest solution in the market right now. Our desire is to help eradicate water-borne diseases,” said Mathew Ikechukwu Ibeabuchi, chief executive officer/ managing director, MD Services Limited, in an interview.
In the water treatment industry in Nigeria, there are only two surviving locally manufactured products, one of which is Klopp Water Cure. This product was preceded by Water Guard, which was earlier produced by the Society for Family Health.
In the eon days, Society for Family Health often produced Water Guard and would distribute it to various parts of the country, particularly to rural areas that were susceptibile to water-borne diseases. But the organisation no longer produces same, thus leaving Klopp Water Cure and Water Care as only two water treatment products in the Nigerian market.
The dangers of water borne diseases cannot be too stressed. James Ekegha narrated his experience after he had drunk unclean water in Ezza Mgbo in Ebonyi State.
“I drank from a contaminated well and started vomiting profusely. I visited the hospital and was told I had dysentery. I spent a whole lot of money on two hospitals,” Ekegha said.
Apart from dysentery, contaminated or untreated water can lead to diarrhoea, which is defined as a condition in which faeces are discharged from the bowels frequently and in a liquid form.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), Cyanobacteria or blue-green algae is also another water-borne disease, which causesskin irritation, stomach cramps, vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea, fever, sore throat, headache, muscle and joint pain, blisters of the mouth and liver damage.
Findings have shown that as much as most rural dwellers drink unclean water, so also do many people in cities. This presents a good logic for a water treatment chemical that will help prevent such diseases and elongate lifespan.
“Nigerians are suffering as a result of unclean and untreated water. A lot of sicknesses we have here are caused by such water. That is where we come in,” Ibeabuchi said.
According to him, the company produces as many as 500,000 bottles each month, and expects to expand same in twelve months.
The firm also has professional microbiologist, chemical engineers and a number of workers, thus creates jobs for Nigerians. The company, which is located in Enugu State, South-East of Nigeria, has been able to push the products to Gombe, Kaduna and other parts of the country, while also targeting to start production of sterilisers.
“We are expanding and seeking more ways of raising funds. The good thing is that our products always rival their peers in the international market due to high quality,” the firm’s helmsman said.
The firm identified its contact number as 08189014839.
