Manufacturers gain as LCCI expands trade missions
Nigeria’s non-oil exports, notably manufacturing, have received a big boost as the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has expanded its trade missions to four markets, namely, Britain, Turkey, Germany and the United States of America.
The essence of this trade expansion is to expose Nigerian manufacturers and businessmen to increasing opportunities in other climes, while also enhancing product visibility.
As the premier chamber of commerce in the country, LCCI has taken its members to explore market opportunities in countries in Africa, Europe, the Americas and other parts of the world.
“We promised at the last event to continually devise innovative means to serve members through trade promotion avenues and policy advocacy and I am happy to inform you that the chamber has expanded its outward trade missions,” said Babatunde Paul Ruwase, chairman, membership committee, LCCI, at an exhibition meeting held at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
Remi Bello, president, LCCI, said as the largest and most diversified private sector group in the country, the chamber expected great investment opportunities from stronger business integration among members, adding that LCCI would continue to devise innovative means to serve the interest of its members through promotion avenues and policy advocacy for better operating environment.
