Olam relaunches FreshYo, Frumil

Olam International has re-launched FreshYo yoghurt after one year of absence. The firm has also re-introduced Frumil into the market.

Speaking at the re-launch in Lagos recently, Sidhartha Samal, category head (beverages, noodles & culinary) at Olam International’s joint venture with Sanyo Foods, said: “FreshYo’s thick and refreshingly creamier texture not only tastes great, but also provides with wholesome energy because it has calcium, protein, vitamins. With its innovative packaging design and a new outstanding formula, FreshYo remains a leading yoghurt brand that has won over children and adults. We are glad that our #MyFreshYoMoments campaign and videos featuring Emanuella and Mark Angel have touched the hearts of so many consumers.”

Ramesh Sinha, vice president, explained the innovative Sales &Distribution strategy for the product and how it would reach consumers in a unique way. Bola Adeniji, marketing manager, shared the 360 degree marketing plan for FreshYo to drive awareness and consumer engagement of the brand.

It also provided an opportunity for entertainers to display their skills. Emanuella and Mark Angel Comedy team graced the occasion with their engaging performance. In the evening, renowned chef and food stylist Iyabo Lawani created five exciting recipes specially for the event and guests were served FreshYo smoothies.

Frumil, another product from the company, was also launched during the event. It will be available in two flavours – apple and orange.

Both FreshYo and Frumil will be manufactured in the company’s new facility at Lagos, which is the first factory in Africa to use aseptic technology for the production of dairy beverages.

FreshYo yoghurt’s presence has been missed by children and adults alike after production ceased temporarily while a new state-of-the-art facility was being constructed in Lagos. It will be available in two flavours – plain sweet and strawberry.
