Sumal Foods makes statement as products reach other markets

Sumal Foods has continued to make strong statements after its 33 years of existence in the country as its products are now enjoyed across West

Africa. Findings have shown that the products, especially biscuits, now enjoy patronage in Ghana, Niger, Togo, Benin Republic and other West

African markets.

“Enjoyed across Nigeria, Sumal Foods products are also exported to neighbouring countries,’’ says the biscuit and candy maker.

Sumal Foods is a company comprising Sumal Foods (itself), Yale Foods and Vital Foods. It was founded by Souhail Joseph Nassar in 1981 to produce Twist Bubble  and Robot gums. In 1989, the founder along with Nouhad Joseph Nassar, started Vital Foods Limited, producing toffees, lollipops, candies, cough drops with different varieties.

In 1997, the duo kick-started Yale Foods, whose biscuits currently enjoy

patronage in Nigeria and other markets. Yale Foods started Wafer biscuit production line in 2009 and later, Yale bread, in 2011.

Some of the products of Yale Foods include Butterscotch, Bakers, Coconut Glucose, Digestive Coaster, Baker’s Chef, among others. On the other hand, Sumal Foods produces mainly gums such as Super Ball, Banana, Jumbo Ball, among others. Vital Foods makes mainly sweets like Electron Super, Super Drops, among others.
