Power Oil partners Ondo on medical outreach
Power Oil has taken another laudable step by extending its health camp initiative to Ondo state, offering its medical outreach to the indigenes, with the backing of the state’s Ministry of Health.
This was disclosed recently during an event in the heart of Isinkan market to mark the official flag off of the health camp project in the state. The event was graced by key representatives from the market committee and representatives from the ministry of health.
The health camp is active in 15 locations across Nigeria including Ondo State, offering free basic medical check up to indigenes in the area of BMI check, Blood Pressure and free medical consultations. The camp intends to move from one local government area to another, ensuring that all indigenes benefit from the health project.
Applauding the rate at which the initiative is spreading across the country within a short space of time, Amisha Chawla, Brand Manager, Power Oil said, pointed out that the plan is to extend the reach of its health campaign to the entire nation.
Chawla said, ‘‘at the end of 2016, the project was present in nine locations and before the end of the second quarter of 2017; we have grown into setting up 14 camps in 13 locations pan Nigeria.’’
Omotayo Azeez, public relations manager, Power Oil noted that the medical teams are present in two locations in Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Kwara, Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Enugu, Anambra, Edo, Rivers, Delta, Imo and now, Ogun State.
Akinsete Olayinka, director, hospital services, Ondo state Ministry of Health, pledged the ministry’s readiness to provide the required backing to ensure that everyone in the state benefits from the health initiative.
‘‘It’s a great challenge that the company has decided to take up with the health status awareness project and the Ministry are delighted to welcome the Power Oil team into Ondo State,’’ Olayinka said.
Adunni Bolarinwa, head of Isinkan market, who was visibly elated, commended the management of Power Oil for the positive impact they are making in the lives of Nigerians.
Power Oil health camp project is a daily and on-going exercise that offers free basic medical health check-ups to communities in the area of Body Mass Index check, blood pressure and free medical consultation.
The health camp is also into partnership with Ogun State Ministry of Health, Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, in Ogun, Oyo, Delta, Edo, Kaduna, Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and, Edo Women for Agriculture.
