A new restaurant in town

Now vegetarians and veggie food lovers can now have a cool hang out spot without getting their food messed up by non vegetarian chefs. Veggie Victory is situated at the Freedom Park Lagos Island, former old prison at the food court.

Lagosians now have a healthy food option. Veggie Victory Nigeria’s first vegan and vegetarian restaurant- offers its customers a wide range of healthy, vegan and vegetarian meals. “We want to show our guest that eating healthy and vegan/ vegetarian is a delicious experience and not boring at all says veggie victory founder Hakeem Jimo.

Their dishes which are meat free include the following on their menu; like vegan suya, veggie burger, and soy dogs. There are also Nigerian dishes on the menu such as; Egusi, Eforiro, and Jollof rice. Oyebola Adeyanju, who is the chef and general manager at veggie victory says “People are always surprised how much they like our vegan meat which is made out of wheat protein or tofu says If you are looking at having a nice meal, or thinking of some place different to hang out or chill with your friends be able to stop by and had a different taste.

Vegetarian foods has been known to give positive health benefits such as; rejuvenating skin, feeling light and lean, no problem maintain an ideal weight, gives more vim and vigor, a healthier heart, useful for weight management, more nutrition’s, immunity boosting and anti cancer, better skin and healthier hair.

There are also fresh fruit drinks, smoothies, juices, shakes and deserts. The smoothies are made from seasonal fruit juice and are surprisingly yummy. Juices are from freshly squeezed seasonal fruits, while their dessert is made of sweet and healthy vegan cupcakes.

Nike Adeleye, co-founder of city chops.com, an online food network, said plans have been ongoing to have a proper vegetarian restaurant in the country. “We have been working with veggie victory for about two months now; the reception has been extremely encouraging from both Nigerians and non Nigerians alike, from vegetarians and non vegetarians, and we are very happy to her them on the platform because they offered Nigerians something different.”
