Alphabet Media Academy enters to bridge knowledge gap in marketing communication

With the increasing challenge of fresh graduates finding it hard to fit in to the work place, industry experts have therefore lauded the birth of Alphabet Media Academy (AMA), as a unique and timely initiative capable of bridging the knowledge gap in Nigeria’s marketing communication industry.

Industry practitioners see the launching of the academy as interventionist move to close the widening knowledge gap in Nigeria’s media industry.

Vincent Oyo, Chairman, Alphabet Media Academy said at the launch in Lagos that the academy is a unique project borne out of the ingenuity “to provide a Post Graduate media advertising training for new entrants approaching the Media Advertising profession and young executives already working in the Industry.

AMA is a project for the industry, by the industry with advertising industry related people as faculty members. “AMA will train students who would like to improve their current employment while others would be trained to be ‘employable’ and the Academy shall assist them in job placement with prospective employers,” Oyo  said. Eki Adzufeh, Chief Executive Officer AMA, said AMA aims to be the most preferred media academy that creates a pool of well-trained talents, which will shape the future of advertising and marketing communications industry in Nigeria, and by extension, Africa.

According to Adzufeh, AMA is an outcome of the decisions of the threesome of media leading lights to advance the profession to an enviable level, in a sustainable way and refine the quality of media management in the country.

“A gap analysis initiated by AMA reveals the deficiencies in the skill sets of current middle management staff in media independents quite clearly”, he said.  The Academy will run post graduate grogramme in Media Managements.
