Brand building: Savanna Cider extends free sampling to February
Following the overwhelming response by consumers to its ongoing free sampling exercise across six Nigerian cities, Savanna Cider has extended the free sampling till February 2014.
The free sampling programme that commenced mid-November last year in selected bars and shopping malls in Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, Benin City, Port Harcourt and Calabar, was introduced to enable consumers enjoy a first-hand experience of Savanna Cider, a South African premium apple cider brewed and packaged by Distell Group.
The product, a sparkling brand of cider, is popular among consumers due to its acclaimed health benefits and its uniqueness as a GMO-free brand of alcoholic cider that has enjoyed global recognition.
According to a statement from Distell, health conscious Nigerians will be happy to know that Savanna Cider does not contain any trace of genetically modified organisms in the product and packaging.
Apart from being refreshing and thirst quenching, Savanna also offers health benefits as cider is a rich source of antioxidants, which accounts for why the product has become a global brand, as the fourth highest selling cider distributed in over 60 countries around the world.
Highlighting the premium quality of the brand, Distell noted that Savanna Cider is neither a beer nor a spirit cooler, but “an alcoholic drink made from apples and has between 2.5 percent and 6 percent alcohol by volume.”
“Being a premium cider has everything to do with what goes into the bottle. We use the juice of the finest crushed apples, fermented and blended to perfection, to create a sublime and 100 percent clear cider. The overall production process is run through a micro-filtration process where it is triple filtered and double chilled for a refreshing, sparkling cider drink,” according to the company.
The Savanna brand of cider was launched in South Africa in 1996, and has grown in acceptance and popularity globally as South Africa’s leading cider export.
