Businessday Media Business Editor gets award for excellence

Following the successful flag-off of its monthly media partnership scheme, the TQC Media Champion Award in July, 2015, Nigeria’s premiere full-service Public Relations Consultancy, The Quadrant Company has named Businessday’s Editor, Media and Marketing, Daniel Obi its Media Champion for the month of August.

At the presentation of the award, the Managing Director, The Quadrant Company, Bolaji Okusaga, remarked that the agency is constantly evolving strategies to recognise media practitioners who have performed well in the industry.

According to Okusaga, “The Quadrant Company recognises and appreciates the role of the media. We are therefore committed to fostering a long-term partnership with this critical segment, knowing that we are two sides of a coin that needs each other and complete each other”

Elated with the award, Obi applauded the introduction of the award, stating that it will further help to strengthen the existing bond between some journalists and The Quadrant Company. “This award clearly shows that The Quadrant Company understands the need to redefine the mechanics of media-agency relationship. We know there is room for more initiatives, but this one is in the right path,” he said.

He emphasized the need for professionalism and competency in attracting businesses and overall nation building, stating, “Everything I do as a journalist is informed by professionalism, my desire to inform, educate and help organizations grow. The Quadrant also stands out today with blue chip accounts in its kitty simply because of adherence to professionalism too. It is therefore critical to note that building the nation Nigeria is hinged on professionalism and competence.”
