Consumer insight aids Tecno’s market penetration, launches Phantom AIII
Perhaps with full understanding of Nigerian smartphone market, the consumer and competition, mobile phone company, Tecno Mobileis is not leaving anything to chances in its efforts to strengthen its bond with Nigerian consumers.
With the launch of latest Phantom A3, an addition to its smartphone phantom family at an event at Oriental Hotels, Lagos, recently, Tecno is making a statement that it is ready to penetrate and expand its market share in Nigeria and satisfy the Nigerian consumer.
Basically, Tecno has kept its research department active to study and understand Nigerian app preferences which the organisation incorporates in latest devices. It is interested and playing strongly in Nigeria because of its understanding that the Nigerian smartphone market is a burgeoning one in the world.
Speaking at the launch, Arif Chowdhury, vice president, Tecno Group, stated that the device was designed with a passion to give everybody access to innovation and was affordable for everybody, noting “it is part of Tecno’s unwavering effort in expanding its offering which can be seen in this superior, innovative phone.
“The Phantom AIII smartphone is an upgraded version of the Tecno Phantom A+, it has a sleeker body and bigger screen than that of its predecessor, it comes with 6.0” captivating HD touch screen, 4.2 android operating system, it has 3.75g network capability, with 1.5GHz quad core processor.”
According to him, the Phantom AIII is equipped with memory capacity of 16GB rom plus one gb ram, 13 megal pixels rear camera and 8 megal pixel front camera. It also has social media application like Facebook, Whatsapp and Palmchat, applications. The vice president added that he was very glad to announce a new collaboration with Blackberry, which allows customers to find, pre-loaded on Tecno devices, the famous and popular BBM™ application.
The smartphone is the mobile device to watch in the years to come, he noted further. The prices are coming down and the sales volumes will increase. This is driving mobile internet access, which then opens up a lot of doors for innovation.
“Studies indicate that most people now access the internet through their mobile phones as opposed to PCs. We will be launching more internet series mobile phones to serve the growing demand of our customers.
“Our research from years back shows that the buyers of Tecno phones are mostly the youth and we have decided to focus on this market of people. This young people want to be unique, they want unique features that allow them to play and chat, and this is exactly what Tecno is giving them through our series of smartphones that we have launched into the market so far,” he added.
Also speaking at the launch, Boukali Mounir, digital marketing and public relations manager, West Africa, Tecno Group, emphasised on the devices specifications, stressing that the “Phantom AIII is a dual sim smartphone beautifully design with an innovative package of 8.4mm slim body.”
The Phantom AIII comes with free monthly 500MB free data for 12 months from Etisalat, Mounir said.
