CSR initiative: X3M Ideas renovates school building on one year anniversary

The Steve Babaeko-led agency, X3M Ideas, a marketing communications outfit, will clock one year in the marketing communications industry on August 1, this year. As part of activities to mark the anniversary, the agency will hand over a school building renovation project it undertook to Opebi Junior High School as its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at giving back to the society.

According to Babaeko, CEO/chief creativity officer, X3M Ideas, though, the agency will become one year on August 1, but it has always been very conscious of its responsibility to its stakeholders, which include its immediate environment, and incidentally one of its chosen areas of intervention is education.

“We are committing resources into this project in recognition of the fact that education they say, is the best legacy. We hope to affect the future of these children by providing a conducive learning environment to these students,” according to Babaeko.

While the agency will not state how much was committed to the project, the X3M Ideas’ team discloses that this is just the beginning of its desire to give back to the society as it promises to affect many more strata of the educational system for the benefit of more Nigerian students.

To Babaeko, a company does not necessarily need to be “so big” before engaging in CSR, it should as a matter of fact be a way of life for organisations. “Meaningful CSR is ingrained in our DNA, therefore, more of similar activities should be expected from us as an agency in the future,” he says.

He praises the Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola for investing in infrastructure development in the state, especially for schools. However, he calls on other public spirited individuals and corporate organisations to support the government’s effort as government cannot do it all alone.

The full-service digital agency, which opened shop for operations August last year in Opebi area of Lagos, is obsessed with the vision to cause a creative revolution in the Nigerian marketing communications landscape and beyond. In line with this, the agency has demonstrated ample creativity in challenging the status-quo in its works for its select clientele.

It displays youthfulness and modernity in all its mode of operations, flaunting cutting-edge equipment and gadgets in a seamless office setting peopled by young but brilliant talents.
