Ex-Dangote Group’s corporate affairs head elected Lagos NIPR head

The Lagos State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations has elected new executive council members at the end of its 24th AGM/PR week elections to run the affairs of the body for the next two years, with Joseph Okonmah, former Dangote Group’s corporate affairs head, emerging as chairman.

There was no election for other positions as the contestants were elected unopposed. They are Comfort Nwankwo, vice chairman; Sheriff Akinpelu, secretary; Silas Udoh, treasurer; Abiodun Olatunbosun, auditor; Prudence Onyejiaka, assistant secretary; Fortune Mbamalu, financial secretary, and Kalu Olekauwa, public relations executive. The positions of ex-officios are still vacant.

The election, which was supervised by a representative of the president of the Institute, Mohammed Adbullahi, chairman, Body of Fellows, Frank Tamuno Koko; a council member and NIPR co-ordinator, South West, Rotimi Oladele, and Alfred Edema, the zonal co-ordinator – South South Education Advisory Board, was adjudged free and fair.
