Harmony within NIMN delights its leadership

The outgoing president of Nigerian Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, NIMN, Ganiyu Koledoye has underscored harmony within the institute as one of achievements in his three year tenure.

Unveiling the four-man electoral committee that will conduct the elections that will usher in a new leadership and other activities lined up for the election in November this year, Koledoye who was elected in 2013 as the president and chairman of the governing council if NIMN said “at that the time, I made clear that I will only stay for one tenure. The reasons for that are obvious. I have been part of the difficult times of the institute and I am glad to be part of this success phase of the institute”.

He was also glad for facilitating marketers’ understanding for unification as “there was no need to factionalise ourselves if we want to be strong”. Apart that, we have really worked hard to ensure that the institute does not start and end in Lagos as all regions now feel passionately about the institute.

Koledoye told journalists in Lagos that though it has not been successful, in trying to make changes but there have been a lot of problems. He however said that his team has dealt with some of them. For instance, when members come for elections, it is now more disciplined instead of shouting people down.

On the elections to be held in Ibadan, Oyo State, he further said that the positions been contested for are president of the council and 4 council members. Nomination has since been opened. The current chairman of the electoral committee, Deola Oladele was the chairman of the election conducted in Enugu along some of his colleagues.
