Osinbajo leads discussion on Investor Relations in Nigeria at Necci roundtable October 26
Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo is expected to lead discussion on investor relations at the Neccipr Roundtable scheduled for October 26 in Lagos.
Tagged “The New Frontiers of Investor Relations- Access and Opportunities,” the roundtable seeks to use corporate communication strategies in exploring new economic opportunities in Nigeria.
Also expected at the roundtable as speakers/discussants are Donald Duke, former governor of Cross Rivers State; Oscar Onyema, CEO of the Nigerian Stock Exchange; Jumoke Oduwole, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Industry, Trade and Investment, and Ibim Semenitari, former Commissioner for Information, Rivers State.
Others are Femi Awoyemi, Faculty member, Centre for Financial Journalism, Nigeria; Olakunle Soriyan, CEO, Ideas Going Global, and Sola Adebawo, Manager, Communications, Policy, Government & Public Relations Chevron Nigeria Limited.
Nkechi Ali-Balogun, conference convener, in a statement said Investor Relations is a branch of Corporate Communications that manages communications between investors and the organizations in which they have invested, or are targeting for future investments.
According to her, certain countries have maximized this aspect of public relations to strategically boost international foreign direct investments and lift their economies from crisis to prosperity, citing as examples, Rwanda and countries of the former Soviet Republics. She said the time is perfect for Nigeria coming out of recession, to maximize this opportunity, to attain economic rediscovery.
“The Round table will among other things highlight the success of the ease of business plan, new openings for business progress and profit maximization in all the areas concerned. In oil and gas for example, the roundtable will explore the potentials of social investment while examining the economic advantages of fossil fuels against biofuels from agriculture, in the quest for alternative renewable energy”.
According to the convener of the Public Relations Roundtable, the conference will feature discussions on key investment possibilities within sectors of Nigeria’s economy as Oil and Gas, Capital Market, Finance and Investment Banking, Insurance, Telecommunication, Power and Metering, Multilateral Agencies (IMF, World Bank, ADB, NEXIM, BOI, Infrastructure Bank, Central Bank, NDIC, NCC) State Governments, Agriculture, Transportation, Infrastructure and Manufacturing.
The NECCIPR Roundtable which is open to Corporate Communications Executives, Media Professionals across industrial strata and sections, Investment Bankers, Financial Advisers, Corporate Strategists, Publicity Managers, International Relations Experts, Business Development Managers, Economic Development Experts, Government Executives and Administrators, will also feature participation from the 36 states of the Federation alongside 26 Embassies and diplomatic missions in Nigeria.
