Panasonic chooses new market approach to introduce Max 700
In a bid to do things differently in a market characterised by ‘bandwagoinsm’, Panaserv, sole franchise distributor of Panasonic brands in Nigeria, has adopted unconventional platform- dance competition- to introduce to the market Panasonic Max 700, its latest home theatre system.
The use of the dance contest to herald the product is to emphasise the importance of the sound and its affinity with Disc Jokers popularly called DJs.
The product was showcased at the Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos with customers from all walks of life viewing in amusement. However, the competition, which also kicked off the same day, would climax at the Panasonic Convention in Lagos in November 26 this year where the winner would win Panasonic Max 700 and other consolation prizes.
Speaking on the product, John Woma, the Media Consultant to Panasonic and CEO Omeba Associates, said the distinctive features of MAX 700 include 4way giant speaker box with 38cm, Seper woofer, full digital triple-amp, prism colour illumination with Maximum DJ effect, 1000 songs internal memory with 6 direct playlist key and output power is 2500w (pmpo) and 2300 (rms).
While speaking on the rationale behind the brand partnership with DJs to introduce the system to Nigerians, Woma said: “We have identified DJs as our core target for Max700 because of their need for robust sound output with sound integrity. We have also complimented this with prism colour illumination. Additionally, we want to target young urban males who love great music.
