PR experts to define new frontiers for Nigeria’s economic growth through investor relations

The NECCI Public Relations Roundtable is organizing a special summit of Public Relations experts next month to chart new frontiers for Nigeria’s economic growth. The theme for the summit is: “The New Frontiers of Investor Relations- Access and Opportunities”

According to the conference convener, Nkechi Ali-Balogun, Investor Relations is a branch of Corporate Communications that manages communications between investors and the organizations in which they have invested, or are targeting for future investments.

According to her, certain countries have maximized this aspect of public relations to strategically boost international foreign direct investments and lift their economies from crisis to prosperity, citing as examples, Rwanda and countries of the former Soviet Republics. She said the time is perfect for Nigeria coming out of recession, to maximize this opportunity, to attain economic rediscovery.

Billed to take place on  October 26, this year  at the Landmark Center Lagos, the Public Relations Roundtable she said will feature discussions on the investment possibilities within such sectors of Nigeria’s economy as Oil and Gas, Capital Market, Finance and Investment Banking, Insurance, Telecommunication, Power and Metering, Multilateral Agencies (IMF, World Bank, ADB, NEXIM, BOI, Infrastructure Bank, Central Bank, NDIC, NCC) State  Governments,  Agriculture, Transportation, Infrastructure and Manufacturing.

“The Round table will among other things highlight the success of the ease of business plan, new openings for business progress and profit maximization in all the areas concerned. In oil and gas for example, the roundtable will explore the potentials of social investment while examining the economic advantages of fossil fuels against biofuels from agriculture, in the quest for alternative renewable energy”.

Speakers outlined for the event include, she said include Oscar Onyema  (CEO Nigerian Stock Exchange NSE)    Donald Duke (FMR Governor, Cross River State Nigeria), Jumoke Oduwole (Senior Special Assistant to the President of Nigeria on Industry, Trade and Investment), Olufemi Awoyemi ( Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Pro-Share Nigeria Limited , Yomi Badejo-Okusanya ( Managing Director CMC Connect), Mark Anthony Chidolue Dike ( FMR Director of Tax Policy, FIRS, President , Chattered Institute of Directors Nigeria), Ibim Semenitari ( Former Commissioner for Information, Rivers State)  and many others.

The Round Table will feature participation from the 36 states of the Federation alongside  25 Embassies and diplomatic missions in Nigeria.
