Unilever kick-starts Lipton Ramadan campaign nationwide

Unilever, a multinational big player in Nigeria’s fast moving consumer goods, has reached out to the Muslim consumers through one its top brands, Lipton, to celebrate with them in this Ramadan season.
Recently, the company brand managers organized tea session and sharing of fruits simultaneously in Agege Central Mosque, Lagos, Gwarimpa Mosque, Abuja and Ansar-ud-deen Central Mosque Katsina to end the day’s fasting with the Muslim consumers.
Appreciating this gesture, Abdulwahid Jumah Ariyibi, Principal Administration for Markaz Arabic and Islamic Training center Agege, established in 1952 said “we welcome Lipton for keying in to the month of doing good and a month of cheering up and this will be the first time Lipton is here with us and we hope they continue this gesture”.
“We are delighted about Lipton. It is a good idea for Unilever to reach out to the Muslims and scholars because here in Markaz we have scholars that  need to know what is good for their health in terms of eating and drinking and  Lipton has come to share this with us”, he said
On his message to Nigerians, he said “we should take this month to be a change month in behavior and appearance and daily affairs in the society and positive instrument for the nation”.
Explaining Lipton gesture, Nsima Ogedialakwe, Brand building director for Unilever said the brand was at the training school to break the fast with its Muslim consumers and celebrate with them in this season of Ramada. On how she felt after providing tea and fruits to them to break their fast for the day, she said,” after looking at their faces, I see smiles and appreciation that gives us joy that we are meeting and connecting with them at the point that matters most to them”.
Vivian Ihasa, category manager for Tea and spread also said Lipton is an international brand in hot tea category. “We believe it is our responsibility to celebrate with our consumers as we are a socially responsible organization. This is time for reflection, prayers and giving and doing good but what Lipton is saying is don’t just think about doing good but act it”, she said.
Unilever Nigeria Plc. in line with the spirit of Ramadan through the Ramadan campaign for its flagship Lipton Yellow Label tea brand, is encouraging Muslim faithful’s across Nigeria to #ThinkLessDoMore by reaching out to people in need and actually taking actions without expecting anything in return.
