AYEEN to mentor, nurture 10,000 young entrepreneurs
Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs Organisation (AYEEN) has concluded plans to identify and nurture 10,000 potential entrepreneurs.
Through the recently launched Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs Student Association (AYESA), the group will guide the budding entrepreneurs into maturity to ensure they ensure they run sustainable and successful businesses and become job hirers.
The group is organising a conference at the University of Lagos (Sports Complex) on the 5th of December 2015 at 9a.m, targeting reduction of unemployment in the country.
According to Summy Francis, president, AYEEN, the AYESA, with the program tag line #10,000JOBMAKERS, is designed for under graduates, graduates, post graduates, aspiring entrepreneurs and unemployed youth.
AYESA’s inaugural conference is directed towards identifying the links between entrepreneurship and education and creating a lead way for students in Nigeria to tap into the bountiful business opportunities presented to Africa. The conference theme, ‘Entrepreneurship in Education’, presents young student entrepreneurs in need of experience, knowledge, mentorship, business coaching programs and industry business skills with choice speakers from diverse business sectors in Africa and an opportunity to exhibit their businesses for direct sales, marketing, networking, loans for expansion and introduction to available business funding.
“The need for AYESA emerged from the lack of Jobs to match the number of brilliant graduates produced annually across Nigeria and Africa. The outcry from young entrepreneurs in Nigeria is the daily headline and the spotlight is now on student entrepreneurs who we will empower to graduate as job makers and not job seekers,” said Francis.
“This in itself will help reduce the unemployment rate in Nigeria, impact positively on the national GDP of the economy, reduce crime, draw foreign direct investments and make Africa a top business destination for the world,” he added.
According to the organisers, registration is free for all regardless of geographical location or status. For more information visit www.ayeonline.org or to register for the program visit ayesa.ayeonline.org.
