Building 21st Century entrepreneurs

 
It is not an overstatement that the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International is building the 21stCentury Nigerian entrepreneurs who are intellectually and morally grounded to face the ever-changing global business climate.
 
For the past 17 years, the Fellowship has been organising annual seminars for start-up, MSME and large enterprise owners and managers, with a view to enabling them understand the impact of various economic agents and segments on business.
 
In a press conference held last Thursday in Lagos, Fola Aguda, district co-coordinator, South-West 3, said the seminar is once again coming up this year between 12th and 13th June, 2015.
According to Aguda, this year’s business seminar has two themes, ‘The 21st Century Entrepreneur: Opportunities & Challenges’ for Seminar I, which will take place at the NECA House, Events Centre, CBD, Alausa, Ikeja; and  ‘Business Excellence in a Deregulated Emerging Market’ for Seminar II, holding at the De Renaissance Hotel, Awolowo Way, Ikeja.
Seminar I offers lower-level training for start-ups and  micro and small businesses, while seminar II will  offer intermediate to high- level training for growing medium and large businesses. Each comes with a business exhibition and workshop, he said.

Aguda, who is also the managing director of ED-Theo Consults, said Seminar I will address management essentials for business growth, how MSMEs can access funds, emerging opportunities in waste management, opportunities and challenges in small-scale export business and the power to get wealth.

Seminar II will address thriving in a globalised economy, financing enterprises through risk/equity and the capital market, investment opportunities in the oil & gas downstream sector, client management, growth opportunities in the maritime sector, as well as power to get wealth.
 
He said that seasoned speakers has been carefully selected to deliver this year’s seminar and they include Pat Utomi of Pan African University;  Uche Ogah, president of Master’s Energy Group; Lere Baale of Nertherlands Business School; Emmanuel Asiak of African Capital Alliance Group, Chidi Ilogu and Alex Bamgbola, among many others.
 
Eddy Eworo, chairman of the business seminar, noted that this year’s business seminar is designed to develop participants’  attitudes, knowledge, skills ,abilities and behaviours for harnessing market potentials in the rising Africa economy.
 
He said that this year’s seminar is expected to attract more than 500 businessmen and professionals from all walks of life, and will feature exhibitors.
 
Emmanuel Asiak of African Capital Alliance Group said  participants will go home with much practical knowledge and the necessary requirements on  financing enterprises through risk/equity and the capital market.
 
Ayoola Badejo, district co-ordinator of South West 6, shared the vision of the fellowship as a not-for-profit organisation of business professionals from all walks of life whose main objective is to emphasise the importance of God and integrity in our lives, careers and businesses. He said the Fellowship creates forum for both young and experienced business men and professionals to come together to share experiences for better business principles  The fellowship exists in over 160 countries; with over 3,500 chapters in Nigeria and 500 chapters in Lagos.
