Diamond Bank makes MSME strides, gets global recognition as top retail bank
Nigeria’s leading retail bank Diamond Bank plc has been rated 4-stars and ranked as one of the best retail banks globally by the Lafferty Banking 500 Index 2018.
According to Lafferty, Diamond bank was selected as one of the top banks globally after credible information gathering process adopted by the Lafferty Research and Development division, using key financial parameters like Financial Position, Strategy, Corporate Culture, Living the Brand, Digital Advancement, Management Experience and Customer Satisfaction of the bank to their customers.

Meanwhile the bank has continued to make strides in the area of the micro, small and medium business.
In a recent interview, Ayodele Olojede, head of emerging businesses at Diamond Bank, said the bank has supported MSMEs in different ways.
“We lent up to N1 billion to 560 MSMEs in eight to 10 months’ period. Our officers are trained to be able to help you put together your financial statement and your books, while taking care of issues relating to collaterals and succession plans. Outside of that, this year alone we have been able to lend N20 billion to over 5,000 MSMEs,” Olojede said.
