First Bank partners British council to develop local skills, talents in Nigeria
In a bid to facilitate the development of local skills and talents in the creative industry, First Bank of Nigeria has partnered with the British Council in putting up the Lagos Theatre Festival.
The event which paved way for expression via theatre arts also created room for artists to display their talents.
The Lagos Theatre Festival 2016 is a well- planned series of events with several activities taking place at the same time in various locations within Lagos – on the Island and the Mainland.
Speaking during the opening ceremony of the Lagos Theatre Festival, Folake, Ani-Mumuney, Group Head, Marketing & Corporate Communications, First Bank said First bank recognises the great potentials inherent in the arts and are keen at helping to harness them.
According to her, “At First Bank we recognise the activities of the British Council, organisers of Lagos Theatre Festival, in education and also in the arts.
We commend their efforts in the promotion of arts and culture and also in providing opportunities for up-coming artists to develop their talents.”
Ani-Mumuney said First bank is very pleased to be in partnership with the British Council, to join in promoting culture and inspiring growth in the arts.

“In this event are six different venues, over 100 arts and place and over good number of producers, artists and directors that have been involved. This has never been done in this capacity and we know this platform gives the artists the exposure and puts us all as a nation on a global pedestal,” Oyefeso-Odusami added.
