Innovation, technologies offer growth for agric, education entrepreneurship
Innovation and innovation technologies have been identified as growth drivers for the agriculture and education industries especially as interests of private sector players heighten in these areas.
To that effect, Microsoft Nigeria Limited (Microsoft) and Nokia West Africa Nigeria Limited (Nokia) in partnership with Dahlberg will be holding an innovation forum to be hosted by the Cross River State Governor.
According to the organisers, the forum which is holding on April 11 in Cross River State, is to create a platform for public-private partnerships to brainstorm and agree on initial action plans on how innovation and innovation technologies can be deployed in these two sectors.
These sectors – agriculture and education have been recognised as two priority sectors and industries to support the enhancement of Nigeria’s competitiveness in line with its national priorities.
“It is our belief that this project will leap-frog Nigeria on to the front burner of regional and global ICT development,” says Oluwamuyemi Orimolade, PR lead, Microsoft West Africa Anglophone.
Therefore to create a general understanding of how innovation and technologies could be used in boosting these sectors for the private and public sector players, Microsoft will be conducting pre-event briefing in Lagos with stakeholders to give them a platform to get first-hand comprehensive insight around the whole event, which will help in boosting the technology evangelism embarked upon by Microsoft in the country.
